This Privacy Policy describes the information used by Where's My Book? and how it is used.
Information you provide
- Book information such as title, author, ISBN, starting city, and an optional journey note.
- Book travel updates such as city, state or region, country, event type, and an optional note.
- If you choose to create an account, your email address and password-derived security data used to authenticate your account.
Public information
Book titles, authors, WMB Book IDs, city-level journey locations, dates, and journey notes may appear publicly on book journey pages or recent-travel sections. Do not submit private addresses or personal information in journey notes.
Accounts and cookies
Accounts are optional. When you sign in, the site uses a secure session cookie so you can remain signed in. Passwords are not stored as readable plain text.
How information is used
Information is used to operate the book-tracking service, display book journeys, maintain optional user accounts, administer the site, prevent misuse, and troubleshoot problems.
Data sharing
This beta does not sell or rent personal information. Information may be processed by infrastructure providers needed to operate the site, such as Cloudflare.
Retention and deletion
Book records and journey entries may remain available while the service operates. The site administrator may remove test data, spam, abusive content, or other records when appropriate. Account and deletion tools may expand as the service develops.
Children
The service is intended for general book-sharing use. Children should use the site with the involvement of a parent, guardian, teacher, librarian, or other responsible adult and should never submit precise private location information.
Changes
This policy may be updated as the service changes. The date above indicates the latest revision.
